Venair found a solution to stop listeria contamination at the manufacturing facilities with TELCRA. TELCRA’s insulating properties leave no chance for the equipment to become bacteria-growing environment.
BARCELONA, December 1, 2015 – With everyone’s being concerned about recent listeria outbreaks at one of the US biggest ice-cream manufacturing facilities, Venair found the solution for preventing listeria contamination.
Listeriosis is a life-threatening infection caused by eating food contaminated with the bacterium (germ) Listeria monocytogenes (Listeria). People at high risk for listeriosis include pregnant women and their newborns, adults 65 and older, and people with weakened immune systems.
Listeria bacteria thrive in cold and wet environments, making condensation on the hoses and other parts of equipment a perfect condition for it to grow and multiply. Venair’s newest product TELCRA can solve any condensation problem that may occur during the manufacturing processes due to its excellent insulating properties. This prevents contamination cases like listeria outbreaks and could become a new solution for concerned manufacturers.
Most recent listeria outbreak happened at the ice-cream manufacturing plants in Oklahoma, US. Three lethal cases and 10 hospitalizations were followed by the recall of all the products from the stores and permanent shut down of the production lines. The contamination is believed to come from the condensate above the pint-filler dripping directly into pints of ice-cream.
