Context

The customer was interested in our adapts capabilities. They have faced problems with leaks due to the heat variation that dilated inox (cold liquids + hot CIP) and the solution was costly because the company often had to go back to the welder to readjust the piece. The solution that they had was an Inox piece that was difficult to mount and heavy for operators.

Challenge faced

We had to design a part that could withstand temperature changes, and that was light enough to be assembled by the operators without difficulty.

The part was designed with different molds, which was a challenge for our engineers until they came up with the key part, adapted to all that was required.

For this reason, our engineers thought that the best solution to suit their needs was our Adaptsil, a custom-made flexible adaptor in FDA and USP VI platinum cured silicone specially designed for food and pharma processing.

Operating conditions

  • Temperature around 121°C for CIP, ambient T° for regular production
  • Pressure between 6-10 bars

This solution is recommended to:

  • Compensate system vibrations as well as optimize the overall life of the hose or tube connections.
  • Solve handling system misalignments as well as increased ease in hose or tube installation.
